Duties/Functions:

  • Provides skilled Physical Therapy services on an intermittent basis to patients in their homes
    in accordance with physician orders.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides initial and ongoing comprehensive assessments of the patient’s needs, including Outcome and
    Assessment Information Set (OASIS) assessments.
  • Establishes a treatment plan in consultation with the physician and revises it with the approval of the
    physician as necessary.
  • Assists in development and implementation of the interdisciplinary patient care plan as it pertains to
    Physical Therapy.
  • Treats patients to relieve pain, develop or restore functional and maintain maximum performance, using
    physical means, such as exercise, massage, heat, water, light and electricity.
  • Consults and familiarizes staff regarding the established plan. Communicates with the physician at least
    every 30 days or whenever changes occur regarding the patient’s status and obtains additional orders, if
    necessary.

Job Condition:

  • The ability to drive and the ability to access patients’ homes which may not be routinely wheelchair
    accessible are required. On occasion, may be required to bend, stoop, reach and move patient weight up
    to 250 pounds, lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor/Master degree of Physical Therapy school approved by the Council of Medical
    Education of the A.M.A. in collaboration with the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Must be licensed in the state of Alaska.
  • Must have at least two year of institutional/home health experience.
  • Must have a fingerprint criminal background check.
  • Must have current CPR certification/Auto insurance/driving license/driving record with State of Alaska.

Clinical Director

Position: Clinical Director / Physical Therapist

The Clinic Director is responsible for the clinical service, operations, clinic growth, and staff development in a collaborative approach that is aligned with company vision and mission.
The successful Clinic Director will maximize clinic growth by providing uncompromising therapy service and by consistently seeking opportunities to develop referral sources.
Success will be measured not only by meeting profit, and growth goals, but also by the relationships built with the staff, patients and referral sources, and the clinical training and development of staff for career progression.

Must be willing to become IAOM certified.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Clinical:

  • Directs patient care and supervision of care including evaluation, assessment and planning. Ensures quality of patient care, integrity of specialty services.
  • Assures staff remains current as the rehabilitation field advances, by providing learning opportunities to develop advanced clinical skills.
  • Promotes and guides professional development and morale of clinicians.
  • Assists in development and implementation of clinic policies and procedures regarding patient care and compliance policies.
  • Assures necessary equipment is available and in a clean and safe working order.
  • Participates in opportunities with company research programs and projects.

Management:

  • Directly supervises assigned clinical and administrative staff.
  • Recruits, selects and retains top clinical and administrative staff.
  • Practices sound employee management techniques in accordance with company administrative procedures, the employee handbook, and existing state, federal and other employment laws.
  • Consistently communicates with staff through scheduled staff meetings, annual reviews, and an informal open-door practice.
  • Advances the growth of the clinic by actively supporting the company vision and mission.
  • Assures compliance with State Federal/Medicare guidelines and company compliance policies.

Marketing:

  • Develops and implements a business plan which includes enhancing existing relationships and building new relationships with physicians, nurses, clinicians and other potential referral sources.
  • Provides educational marketing programs for referral sources, area businesses, and the general community.
  • Analyzes patient survey satisfaction feedback to understand how to improve services.
  • Communicates with referral sources by providing regular feedback regarding patient progress.

Performance Measures:

  • Quality of treatment provided represented by feedback from referral sources and patients
  • Continued development of staff and mentorship of clinicians
  • Recruitment, selection and retention of top performers
  • Compliance with Federal/Medicare guidelines and company policies
  • Financial performance by meeting budget goals
    • Net per visit
    • Census management
    • Productivity (visits day per therapist and scheduling)
    • Financial forecasting
    • Performance of duties listed and duties that may be added to the non-inclusive list in this Position Description
  • Knowledge: Must be willing to become IAOM certified.
  • Skills and Abilities: Effective time management is demonstrated by completing all billing-related documentation prior to end of the patient visit, and by completing all other patient-related documentation by the end of that same work day. Maintains a safe working environment that is well organized. Demonstrates strong intercommunication skills interacting professionally with physicians and colleagues.
  • License, Certification, Registration or Degree Required: Must meet Alaska state licensure requirement by graduating from an accredited physical therapy school and successfully passing the national board exam. Must participate in annual APT Leadership Initiative and training program.
  • Must be available to both staff and the Director team beyond usual clinic hours.

Skills and Abilities: Communication and Relational

  • Build rapport and effective partnerships with clinical directors, staff in all departments and at all clinical sites.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal and active listening skills.
